Hello NYFS Community,

Joining Northeast Youth & Family Services just a few months ago has been a powerful experience. I am impressed with the high-quality, compassionate care our clients receive and am so grateful to be part of such a dedicated and skilled team. I am also thrilled to lead NYFS into the next chapter of our story as we build on a legacy of over 45 years of serving our community.

Our new quarterly newsletter will give you a glimpse into the work we are doing and the impact our committed staff make every day on the lives of our clients. Before moving into executive leadership, I was first a clinical social worker and trauma therapist and I know the value of meaningful, genuine relationships with our clients. I am happy to tell you how deeply our staff make these vital connections. Our clients are very well cared for. Investing in our staff is truly an investment in our clients and community. We are prioritizing staff wellness and work sustainability by providing tangible supports, including professional development, sustainable caseloads, robust supervision/consultation, and opportunities to provide innovative services. The culture of post-COVID connection and creativity at NYFS is the same culture we support outside of NYFS because we know that collective healing will come from laughing, playing, and learning together.

We are proud of our continued progress, yet at this time NYFS is in particular need of your financial support – our mental health services have been hit hard by the effects of COVID on the health sector. As we work to ensure that those most in need can receive our help despite economic hardships – we are also struggling alongside many mental health organizations with the shortage of qualified mental health providers. The need is far greater, but the resources are scarcer than ever. With your continued or increased support, we know we will emerge from this stage of growth even stronger than before.

I will keep you updated via this newsletter and our website on how we continue to adapt to thrive this new reality, but please know that I am also available to answer any questions you may have about NYFS. Please contact me at [email protected] or 651-379-3404 to learn more about how we are working together to make our community a great place to live, learn, work, and do business.

Thank you again for your partnership in the past, and I look forward to the important work we will do together in the future.
