NYFS School-Based Therapy partners with three metro-area school districts to provide accessible, on-site mental health support to students, right where they learn and grow. Our therapists offer individual and group therapy to address concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and more. Services are available to students from early childhood through high school.
By embedding therapists in 11 schools throughout the region, we are able to make mental health care more approachable and consistent. This allows us to support students in real time, within the context of their daily school experience.
A place where our work comes to life is at REACH Academy, a Federal Setting IV special education program offered through the Mounds View Public School District. Located directly below NYFS headquarters in Shoreview, REACH Academy partners with an on-site therapist who works closely with school staff to meet students’ mental health needs in the classroom. In addition, the therapist serves as a resource for the entire school, offering expertise and helping staff address broader mental health challenges. As a result, students, teachers, and the school community experience stronger emotional, social, and academic outcomes.
