Alison received her Bachelor of Social Work from the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, MN and is currently a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) working towards her Master of Social Work degree at Augsburg University. She interns as a Clinic-Based Therapist at NYFS. Alison brings upwards of 8 years work experience with children and families, as well as adults struggling with substance use, homelessness, and chronic illnesses in a variety of settings. She has an interest in the areas of anxiety, depressive disorders, LGBTQIA+, and life transitions.
Alison emphasizes a biopsychosocial, client-centered approach with a focus on clients’ self-determination. She maintains a sense of curiosity, empathy, and acceptance throughout her practice. Alison utilizes an attachment and trauma-informed lens to strengthen her understanding of and build a therapeutic alliance with her clients. She aims to create a welcoming and safe place that validates the client experience. She believes in the importance of safe, trustworthy relationships and strives for her office to be a space where clients can be their full selves.
