Lucille (Lucy) Amis-Rosario, MSW, LICSW, serves as the Director of Compliance, Quality, and Training at NYFS. She earned her Bachelor of Social Work from St. Olaf College and her Master of Science in Social Work from Columbia University. She also holds a K–12 Principal’s License and is currently completing her Doctorate in Educational Leadership (Ed.D.) at Bethel University. Her dissertation explores the relationship between trauma-informed and healing-centered organizational practices in K–12 schools and the levels of teacher compassion fatigue.
Lucy brings extensive experience in leadership, program development and evaluation, training, supervision, and trauma-focused clinical work in both nonprofit and public education settings. She is trained in a range of evidence-based practices, including Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), the Neurosequential Model of Education and Therapeutics, restorative practices, and various school-based social-emotional and trauma-informed interventions.
Before joining NYFS, Lucy spent eight years working in high-needs school districts, where she developed systems to support students’ mental health and behavioral needs, and trained school personnel in trauma-informed and healing-centered practices. Prior to her work in education, she held leadership and clinical roles in nonprofits in the Twin Cities, New York City, and Central Mexico, focusing on family stabilization, community development, trauma recovery, and healing from domestic and sexual violence.
Lucy believes that all people have an innate ability to heal and find happiness if they have access to the right resources, supportive relationships, and safe environments. She is passionate about driving change at the individual, community, and systemic levels that seeks to integrate trauma-informed and culturally responsive frameworks to cultivate healing-centered environments throughout our community.
