Taylor Bixby, MSW, LGSW

Day Treatment Therapist • She/Her/Hers

Taylor is a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Graduate Social Worker (LGSW) who received her master’s in social work from the University of Saint Thomas. She brings experience from day treatment settings, school-based settings, community-based settings, and domestic violence agencies. Taylor joined the NETS Day Treatment team as a Program Therapist working with adolescents from 12 to 18. Taylor is eager to support adolescents and families through individual therapy, group therapy, skills group therapy, and family therapy.
Taylor has worked with individuals with trauma histories, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, disordered eating habits, family conflict, grief and loss, anger management, suicidal ideation, self-injurious behaviors, self-sabotage tendencies, neurodivergent identifying clients, and LGBTQ+ identifying clients, and more. Taylor is aware of the impact of intersectional identities, bias, stigma, prejudice, and how generational trauma has an impact on client and family systems.

Taylor strives to create a safe and affirming environment for clients to explore their identity and needs. Taylor utilizes a trauma informed, client centered, anti-oppressive, and strengths-based lens utilizing different therapy modalities to meet each client’s unique needs. Taylor’s practice is often informed from attachment theory, polyvagal theory, neurodiversity affirmative practice, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectal behavioral therapy, trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy, and psychodynamic relational theoretical frameworks.
Taylor is passionate about meeting clients where they are and inviting them to explore their identities and needs in a safe nurturing way. Taylor believes that trust builds the foundation for a relationship and that is where change can begin in the therapeutic process. Taylor allows clients to lead and follows through her practice with curiosity, openness, compassion, grace, critical consciousness, and flexibility. Taylor believes this is where true transformation, healing, forgiveness, and acceptance can be found.
