Vanessa is a licensed graduate social worker (LGSW, MSW). They are passionate about supporting children and families in healing from intergenerational trauma, and in honoring their intergenerational resilience and strengths. Vanessa has worked intensively with children struggling with emotional regulation and trauma, families facing domestic violence, families struggling with substance use, and families experiencing child-protective involvement as well as systemic traumas.
They seek to hold a client-centered practice and approach, honoring client’s expressed needs and goals. In their practice, Vanessa offers Child-Centered Play therapy, motivational interviewing, relational psychotherapy, and somatic-centered practices, including meditation and polyvagal practices.
Their central hope is communicating a steadfast hope and belief in clients and supporting them in seeing how they make sense. Vanessa’s therapeutic lens is influenced by their values of intersectionality, social justice, and the value of connection and human relationships.
